CLT RNAV SID
ADVISORY NOTICE effective in the future
1. If unable to accept the RNAV SID clearance,
notify Clearance Delivery. Runway assignment
will be issued by Charlotte Ground Control.
Flight crews should immediately verify the taxi runway with the
anticipated runway programmed in the FMS.
2. ATC will provide aircrew executing an RNAV SID an advisory to
verify the correct first waypoint is programmed in the FMS. Verification shall occur (prior to issuing
takeoff clearance) using the following phraseology:
“(Aircraft Identification),
Verify first waypoint, (Waypoint Name)"
EXAMPLE: “US AIRWAYS 123, Verify first waypoint
EBAWI”
NOTE: This advisory is issued to
assist pilots in confirming the correct procedure is loaded in the FMS. The pilot is expected to acknowledge the
query as he/she would any other ATC communication. It is not a challenge-and-reply advisory and a specific readback
is not required unless the aircrew require further clarification.
3. Before takeoff ensure that the correct
departure runway, RNAV SID, initial waypoint and en route transition are loaded
in your FMS. Pay particular attention
if a runway change has occurred.
Aircraft equipped with electronic navigation map displays verify that
the aircraft symbol relative to the runway symbol and lateral track agrees with
the departure clearance. After takeoff,
engage lateral navigation flight guidance as soon as practical and fly the
departure precisely.
NOTE: If unable to
comply with the RNAV SID, contact ATC prior to takeoff and request an amended
clearance.
4. Parallel RNAV departures must not encroach
on the airspace between extended parallel runway centerlines without specific
ATC clearance. Manually intervene if
necessary to stay on track to avoid transgressing in the direction of a
parallel track.
After takeoff,
continue to reference the navigation chart for correct FMS waypoint sequencing
and navigation.
NOTE: If
unable to comply with the SID profile, either laterally or vertically,
immediately notify ATC.
